Dwell360 Welcomes You to Waban!
Welcome to Waban!
In 2020, Dwell360 relocated from Newtonville to Waban, another wonderful village of Newton, MA. We are thrilled to be a part of this vibrant community, so we decided to share some of our favorite things about our new home with you! Read on to learn more about Waban.
A Brief History
Until 1874, Waban was solely farmland. At this time, only about 20 families owned property in Waban. This community began to see rapid development in the mid-1880s with the expansion of the Boston and Albany Railroad into Waban. Investors began buying land and building streets and homes, which attracted more business and people to the area. In 1889, the Waban Improvement Society was formed and it continues to enhance the village to this day. The Society initiated many improvements to Waban, including the addition of gas lines, sidewalks, and Waban Hall (the site of the first school and library in the village!).
